MIT Technology Review The January Issue of MIT's Technology Review features an article entitled: Security in the Ether that begs the question: "Is The Cloud Safe?"  The author, David Talbot states that "Information technology's next grand challenge will be to secure the cloud--and prove we can trust it."

This seems to be the big question on everybody's mind today, or at least everybody who is connected to Cloud Computing.  As a premier provider of hosted email archiving services, Sonian has been very interested in following alot of these conversations.  Some of our own dialogue on cloud security can be found here.

Ironically, it is not just the topic of Cloud Security that has the IT team at Sonian buzzing, MIT itself just recently graced the homepage of our blog in a recent article written by Sonian's Founder and CTO, Greg Arnette.  The article features a video from MIT in 1963 that makes the reader think about the concepts of cloud computing - is it really just an old idea in a new box?  Watch the MIT Science Reporter video here.

Regardless, Security in the Ether is well written article and on I'd encourage you to check it out and feel free to post your comments about the article back here at the Sonian blog and let us know how cloud security issues could effect a hosted email archiving company!
